Classroom space for Bradford
Cyprus has been awarded a contract to provide temporary classroom
accommodation at 20 schools in Bradford in association with Wernick Hire Ltd, manufacturers
and suppliers of portable buildings. The works are part of the Education Department's
'Transitional Needs 2000' programme, aimed at changing the area's schooling from
a 3 tier to a 2 tier system.
Recreating the
Victorian era
Cyprus has been awarded a £60 000 contract working on the renovation of the 19th
century bandstand in Lister Park, Bradford. The work is being carried out in association
with Andy Thornton Architectural Antiques of Elland and involves the construction
of new foundations, steel frame and sheet metal roof and the renovation of existing
masonry. The design and detail of the works have been replicated from fragments
of the original 19th century drawings and a single photograph from the turn of the
century.
